Careers in the field of Management Information Systems ...
will grow faster than average! Do you have an interest in business, computers, or information systems? Students in the MIS program learn the principles, tools, and techniques used in the design, programming, administration, and security of computers and information systems. Throughout the program students will learn office safety, computer fundamentals, database administration and computer maintenance/troubleshooting. High achieving students will graduate with a PA Skills Certificate. Articulation agreements also exist for high achieving students desiring to pursue MIS at the post-secondary level. Students receiving a score of Advanced on the NOCTI examination will receive a minimum of 9 college credits at participating postsecondary institutes through the PA SOAR program.

Meet the Teacher

Mr. Woodley graduated from Pottstown High School in 2002. After high school, Mr. Woodley attended Montgomery County Community College for two years and then went on to graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 2007. He began his teaching career at Pottstown High School in 2008. While at Pottstown, he has taught numerous subjects including Childcare, English, Science and eventually computers!

Mr. Woodley and his students, the MISFits, also work with the Pottstown School District IT Department by overseeing the Chromebook Distribution Center at the high school. In his free time, Mr. Woodley enjoys running, working out, traveling, and dabbles in photography!

Articulation Agreements/SOAR Credits

The Management Information Systems program holds a one-to-one articulation agreement with:

PA Bureau of Career and Technical Education SOAR Programs of Study taken at the High School level may transfer into participating colleges, universities, and technical centers. The awarding of college-level credit is acceptable for up to three (3) years after the qualifying student’s graduation date from the Program of Study at the High School. The mission of SOAR is to prepare students for college and careers in a diverse, high-performing workforce.
