Good Morning Pottstown Parents and Community Members,
Last night the school board of directors approved the phased reentry plan for the Pottstown School District students and staff. Beginning August 24 and for the entire first semester the school district will be delivering synchronous virtual education. This is deemed the safest and steadiest education model to deal with this crisis. Chromebooks for all students is a major part of this plan. Distribution will occur before the first day of school. Please visit our website to view this plan and for more information. www.pottstownschools.com
I also wish to inform you that during the school board meeting the school district Facebook account was most likely “trolled” meaning a fake account was made to look like ours, by persons unknown making comments that were disrespectful and completely out of character. We are investigating who did this and will use all the cyber resources available to us to track down the culprit. Please accept our collective apology. This is also a good reminder to us all to be vigilant about our cyber security. Change your passwords often and monitor your accounts.
Thank you and stay safe,
Stephen Rodriguez

Good Morning Pottstown Parents and Community Members,
I hope you are enjoying a safe and relaxing start to the summer season. As I reflect over the past several months, it is with great pride and emotion that I remember the tremendous challenges we faced together, with continual adjustments, adaptations, innovations, and flexibility. We are too close to the situation right now to fully grasp all that we accomplished in so short a time, in spite of the many barriers we faced.
The administrative team along with key members of our teaching and support staff, continue to work diligently toward the goal of responsibly opening the next school year safely and successfully! Our plan will be multifaceted with lots of options to accommodate a variety of situations. We are committed to being open for the business of educating students and preparing them for success at every level!
Virtual Education – For those families who know that returning to school would be a hardship, please let us know right away so that we can enroll your students in our highly successful and flexible Virtual Learning program. CLICK HERE TO VIEW FORM.
Survey Results- Thank you to all of the parents, staff, and students who participated in our survey! Results minus individual comments will be posted on our website here: the big Takeaway is that 80% of our students and families wish to return to school with as many safeguards as possible.
Athletic, Music, and other co-curricular programs - There have been recent releases of guidance for steps to take to safely reopen and begin programs that traditionally begin in the summer. We are working to develop plans for the responsible restart of co-curricular activities, which by state requirements must be approved by our school board of directors. We will release information as soon as we are able.
We appreciate your continued support and please stay tuned for more information to come for the safe reopening of our schools and our programs!
Thank you and stay safe,
Stephen Rodriguez
