Engineering Technology

Engineering Technology consists of a series of courses ...
that expose students to the various disciplines of engineering including: civil engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, design, manufacturing, industrial, and mechanical engineering. Electro-mechanical systems, robotics, electrical and electronic theory, thermal heat, and fluid and pneumatic power are also covered in depth as part of this program. Additionally aerospace and chemical engineering are reviewed. Students who complete this program will have a strong base on which to continue their studies in an engineering field.

Meet the Teacher

Mr. Dougherty graduated from Millersville University in 2011. Before coming to Pottstown, he worked as a Tool and Die Engineer and Kruse Tool and Die Inc. He enjoys spending his summers golfing and fishing in Wildwood and is a passionate Eagles fan. His favorite part of teaching is inspiring students to think critically and solve problems through hands-on learning. He especially enjoys working on large projects with students that combine different engineering disciplines, giving them real-world experience in collaboration and problem-solving. He believes one of the greatest aspects of the CTE programs is the opportunity to build strong relationships with students while preparing them for future careers in engineering and manufacturing.
