About Us:

The Edgewood Learning Academy houses the district’s full time emotional and Autistic support programs in grades K-8. Edgewood provides a School-wide positive behavior support program and incorporates restorative groups as the basis for behavioral intervention and discipline.

The autistic support classrooms infuse VB Mapping was designed as a  behavioral approach to assessing language skills based on B.F. Skinner’s analysis of language, or Verbal Behavior. The VB-MAPP is a criterion-referenced assessment based on typical language development.

The academic programming at Edgewood combines the district’s core programs with direct, explicit instruction. Students at Edgewood participate in community- based instruction. Community- based instruction allows students to interact with their community and further social and functional development in “real time".
