A monthly update of classroom happenings
Thanksgiving Thoughts

It is hard to believe that we are 60 days into the school year. I often tell this group of 27 amazing minds that their potential is endless, and I am sad to see how fast time is flying. We are having so much fun in fourth grade. So far we have finished unit 1 in reading and chapters 1 and 2 in math. Our math chapters have included place value, and adding and subtracting to the millions. Each day Mr. Wagner and I constantly comment about the academic progress we see in our classroom. Keep up the good work for the second marking period!
Some highlights from this marking period include:
- Fall Fest
- Carnival Day
- Baseball Bucks Auction
- WISK'ing' it up -- constantly!
- The Turkey Bowl
I can't wait for more exciting events!

PSSA vs. Room 209 "NO CONTEST!"
Posted 4/5/2016 at 5:55:21 PM by MATTHEW COHEN [staff member]
We have just concluded our 10 PSSA Olympic events: The teams were the Crystal Wolves, Denominators, Yellow Jackets, Diamond Destroyers, Valiant Volunteers, and the Flaming Sharks. The teamwork and sportsmanship was amazing. The golds, silvers, and bronzes were awarded with victories in events such as Main Idea baseball and Figurative Language Golf. These amazing crew never realized or minded that they were working on PSSA practice while having a great time! Learning can be fun and in room 209 that is the TRUTH!
What a Wild Ride!

2015-2016 Simply SPECTACULAR

With the PSSA test in our rearview mirror, the students in room 209have not taken their foot off the pedal. We have had so much fun all year long as a class and now it's time for field trips. In the last few weeks we have travelled to Hopewell Furnace and the Reading Phillies. In the final few weeks we will head to Swamp Creek and North End Pool. Sprinkled in will be the end of the year Jeopardy game, yearbooks, awards day, time capsules, picnic, and more fun and games! Every student and teacher looks forward to a summer off, but this was a year that will never be forgotten. I can only hope to see this wonderful students continue to grow and mature and perhaps they will come back and visit me anytime they would like!
