About Mrs. Lawrence

The 2018-2019 school year is my sixth year teaching at Pottstown Middle School.
- It is my second year teaching sixth grade math and science.
- Before teaching sixth grade, I taught fifth grade for four years.
I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Elementary Education at Kutztown University. I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education from Millersville University.
My favorite subject to learn and teach is math. However, I love, love, love to read, too!
I live in Pottstown with my husband and five cats. My husband, Mr. Lawrence, teaches 7th grade at the Middle School. A little bit about our feline friends:
- Melissa: Vivacious 18 year-old sassy, long-haired lady
- Tofu: Our slightly skittish 7 year-old tripod kitty
- Queso: 4 year-old wild cat from Ocean City, NJ
- Purrcival: Our slightly chubby long-haired boy, bonded to sister, Purrscilla
- Purrscilla: Bonded to brother, Purrcival. Orange purr monster.
You are probably thinking that your teacher is a crazy cat lady....and you're right. However, I love all animals. My favorite wild animal is probably a sloth.
In fact, I love animals so much that I can't eat them. I have been a vegetarian for six years.
I play the cello. I played in third through fifth grade, so this is take two. This December will make four years!
My favorite sport is hockey. I plan on playing ice hockey in the future. My favorite ice hockey team is the Pittsburgh Penguins.
