PHS Marching Band "The Higgins Report"

Pottstown High School has a long tradition of outstanding marching bands. This season under the direction of our director Mr. Daniel Higgins the band sets a new standard of excellence. Read the latest HIGGINS REPORT and you will have another reason to say, Proud to be from Pottstown. This Saturday, the Marching Trojans competed in the Cavalcade of Bands American A Division championships hosted at Hatboro Horsham High School. Out of 17 total bands, Pottstown placed 8th overall. Perhaps an even greater accomplishment, the band came in 3rd place overall in the area of "Field Music". Without a doubt, this was their strongest performance of the season. This was their final performance of their 2023 show "Here I Go Again". It was a wonderful season of huge growth for our ensemble. 16 of the 42 band members were brand new to marching with 7 having never even been in band before. The band was under new student leadership: Head Drum Major Carice Peart, and Assistant Drum Major Tyler Broughton. Both were crucial in the band's success. We would like to thank seniors: Jon Moser, Tyler Broughton, Ethan Yost, Bat Endy, Josie Bechtel, and Makenna Franey for their years of work and service with the marching band. In addition to Cavalcade of Bands, the band began performing in the Pennsylvania Marching Band Coalition and attended the PAMBC Season Finale at Manheim Township HS. Despite being an extraordinarily rainy few months, the Trojan Band delivered and entertained audiences through all conditions. The Marching Band has one more performance this year. They will be performing at the Pottstown Schools Music Association Craft and Vendor show on November 18th.
