They Are The Champions

In the world of drum and bugle corps, there is no better than the Reading Buccaneers. Pottstown High School alumni, current student and music staff members all contributed their talents to the Buccaneers world championship honors. Competing at the Drum Corps Associates World Competition held in Rochester New York, the Pottstown contingent helped secure the championship. Performing in the show “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” were former student Ceaira Worrell-Tillman, along with present student Taylor Maguire. Current Pottstown, marching band, staff members Mikaya Vangelo and Megan Fox also contributed their talent to the on field performance. PHS band staff Chris Liounis and our very own PHS marching band director, Daniel Higgins provided guidance and instruction to the organization. Higgins said I am excited and thrilled with becoming world champions, and I am proud of the contribution that members of the Pottstown School District have provided. We are truly helping to prepare our students for future success at every level. The Redding, Buccaneers, drum and bugle corps is a non-for-profit, education, oriented, musical organization, dedicated to providing its members with a unique performing experience. The Buccaneers are a charter member of the drum corps associates. (DCA) and compete annually for the DCA championships. Additionally, they perform in various venues, including parades, exhibitions, concerts, and field shows.
