Trojan Girls Pin Their Way To States

Congratulations to members of the Pottstown High School wrestling team who competed in the Eastern Regional Championships. Two of our four members qualified for the state championships held next week at Central Dauphin High School.

Xiyah Robinson earned her ticket to states by pinning her way to first place with two overpowering pins in the 170 pound class.Vida Torres placed second in the 230 class and will be making the trip to states.

Freshman Trinity Rhodes placed sixth, one spot short of being a state qualifier. But with two wins by pin, with one in 16 seconds and the other in 41 seconds she made a statement for the future. Tara Morgan gained lots of high level competition experience and will battle for a state spot next year.

These young ladies represented our school and community with pride, integrity and sportsmanship, to give us another reason to say proud to be from Pottstown.
