The Pottstown Middle School Jazz Band under the direction of Daniel Higgins presented an outstanding performance at the Wilson High School Jazz Festival.
Colin Plank was recognized as the "Outstanding Soloist " for his drum performance on "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy". The saxes received the " Outstanding Woodwind Section" award. Luke Grice and Jayden Bell received recognition for their solos. The band also performed "One O'Clock Jump '' and Freddie Freeloader '' Higgins said the members of the band are excellent representatives of the middle school,district and community.
Their hard work paid off and gave us another reason to say, proud to be from Pottstown. You can hear the band at their next performance on May 6 at the Hershey Park High Note Festival.
