Important Message from Superintendent Stephen Rodriguez

There is a lot of concern right now about the gun violence that took place over the weekend which stems from an ongoing issue between a group of 8th-grade students. Anytime guns are involved, it's a serious and concerning issue. Here's what you should know:

--The PMS staff and administrative team make me proud. They are doing a good job, tackling problems head-on. They don't bury issues, ignore bullying, or pretend that everything is "fine." They work to resolve disagreements between students, teach them social and emotional skills, in addition to academic instruction! PMS deserves our appreciation and support.

--We are fully cooperating with the Pottstown Police Dept. What happened Sunday night was a serious crime, which could have been deadly. We believe all the perpetrators of this incident should be arrested and held accountable so it never happens again.

--We increased security coverage so that both arrival and dismissal will have security personnel on site.

--The Police Dept. will also be present during arrival and dismissal for the time being

--Prompt communication will continue in order to keep our parents and community informed.

--The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. That will continue to be the standard.

--Thanks for your support.
