Trojan Athletes Prove Hard Work Pays Off

girls hockey teamOur Trojan athletes are learning an important life lesson, " Hard Work Pays Off " Since early August they have track runnerbeen working on the field and in the weight room preparing to compete. On Friday they enjoyed the fruits of their labor. 

The football team improved to a 3-1 record with a 14-0 win over Methacton. Jahzeel Watson had five catches from Joneil Oister for 105 yards and a touchdown. Ezra Figueroa picked up another 105 yards running. Trojan defense was a total team effort as they completely stopped the Methacon offense. Dereck Darden,Jorge Mundo,Mason Miller and Bobby Richards added sacks,and interceptions to the Trojan effort. Earlier in the day the girls soccer team came up with a hard fought overtime victory over Phoenixville for their first victory of the season.Calista Daye scored the winning goal in overtime with an assist from Yaz Paez.

Julianna Figueroa score the goal to set up the overtime victory. In Cross Country action the boys team placed 7th overall in the Harrier Invitational with Darius Smallwood taking a 5th place individually. Girls Field Hockey lost a hard fought 2-1 decision to Upper Merion.

Debra Laula scored with an assist by Destri Roye. Lillian Stirk was strong in goal for the Trojans with seven saves. Participation in athletics can be a proving ground for life lessons. Today's lesson HARD WORK PAYS OFF.
