Helping Children Succeed

Welcome to the new school year,
My name is Sherri Stagemyer. I am an Occupational Therapist for Pottstown School District working at Barth Elementary School. I have been with Pottstown School District for 9 years and have treated our students across the district. Prior to working at Pottstown School District, I worked for Theraplay, Inc. in Outpatient services and Early Intervention services and for Easter Seals Society in school based therapy, Early Intervention and Easter Seals classrooms. I love my job and working with all types of students. It brings me great pleasure to see them improve and grow.
I was born in Memphis Tennessee to a military family. My father was in the Navy so we moved around quite a bit when I was a child. The areas I remember living in were Maryland, Georgia, Virginia, California and of course Pennsylvania. My husband is a maintenance supervisor at a local company and I have 2 adult children; Nicole and Shannon. Nicole is a Neurophysiologist and has her Doctorate in Audiology and Shannon teaches 1st grade overseas at the American School in Doha, which is in Qatar and located in the Persian Gulf.
I graduated from Temple University School of Medicine with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2001. I am licensed and board certified by the state of Pennsylvania and our National Occupational Therapy Organization. I have also received my Handwriting certification from Handwriting without Tears. I continue to grow and learn new things every year by attending various conferences to help my students achieve their goals and grow in their educational environments.
I am proud to be part of the Pottstown team and community. I look forward to many more years of helping our students and your children.
