Former Syracuse, Pottstown High great Mock is new coach at @SCHGirlsLax

Mock, who served as an assistant at George Washington in 2014-2015, also was a member of the United States National Women’s Lacrosse Team in the 2014-15 season. Mock, an All-Phillylacrosse.com First-Team pick in 2010 when she scored 119 goals, had a standout career as a defender at Syracuse where she helped the Orange to a 2013 Big East championship, three NCAA Final Fours (2012-2014) and two National Championship games (2012, 2014).

Mock was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List prior to the 2014 season. During her senior campaign she earned a spot on the ACC All-Conference Second Team, the IWLCA All-Northeast Region First Team and the IWLCA All-America Second Team. She was a four-time All-Academic selection, earning Big East honors from 2011-13 and ACC accolades in 2014.

Mock also spent several years as a coach in the Aftershock Lacrosse Program and currently is the 2022 coach for Big 4 HHH. She also played professionally with the Boston Storm this summer.

Mock answered these questions about her new position:

What are your short-term goals?

Mock:
“My short term goal for the team is to just be a consistent competitor amongst the strongest Inter-Academic teams in this initial season.”

What are your long-term goals?

Mock:
“As far as long term goals, I would obviously love for the team to feel what it’s like to win the Inter-Ac. This isn’t something that I would talk about everyday at practice, rather we will approach this goal as one practice and one game at a time.”

What is your general coaching philosophy?

Mock:
“My general coaching philosophy is a direct reflection of my experience playing at Syracuse. Your team is your family. Once you stop playing for yourself and start playing for your sisters beside you on the field, greatness is bound to happen. This is something that helped me become the best that I could be and hope to pass along to the girls I’ll be coaching and mentoring.”
