Pottstown High School Marketing/Business teacher and DECA advisor Mr. Ronald Davenport, reports on the grand opening of the Trojan Store.
Trojan Shop held its grand opening. Learning real life skills by doing, students apply marketing and business concepts through real-life applications utilizing the student store. The Marketing students of the Career Technical Education program created and executed a marketing plan for the grand opening event. Students used research to develop a product mix and utilized different advertising and promotional strategies to communicate the opening with the school.
The school store team voted on what merchandise to offer and to invest in an air fryer, to increase the selection of items to include hot foods. The store is open to students and staff before and after school. The grand opening was a huge success. All profits earned at the student store directly benefit the DECA organization, a student lead marketing club. Profits pay for trips and competitions throughout the year.
