National organization seeks advice from Rupert principal

Congratulations to Rupert Elementary principal Mr. Matt Moyer on being selected to serve on the editorial advisory board of the National Association of Elementary School Principals.

Congratulations to Rupert Elementary principal Mr. Matt Moyer on being selected to serve on the editorial advisory board of the National Association of Elementary School Principals. 

The organization provides high quality professional learning and resources aligned to educational leadership standards. As an editorial advisor he will be asked to write book reviews and articles which will be published in Principal magazine. He will share his thoughts about publications and social media posts regarding educational issues. 

Mr. Moyer will submit articles and theme ideas for publication and as a member of the advisory board he will also respond to editorial queries. Members of the advisory board are in contact with principals from across the country and share relevant ideas and practices that help improve the quality of educational opportunities for students. Mr. Moyer said I am honored to be selected to serve on the advisory board and hope to both share my experience and knowledge with others and to learn from experiences of our members. 

Matt Moyer has been in education for over 25 years. As a Pottstown graduate and former Rupert Elementary School student, he is proud to be starting his 18th year as principal of Rupert Elementary School. In 2020 Mr. Moyer was honored as the Pennsylvania Principal of the Year by the PA Principals Association, and as a Nationally Distinguished Principal by NAESP. 

In addition to his duties as principal, he is an author, an adjunct professor at DeSales University and Montgomery County Community College, a national speaker, and provides staff development to educators locally and across the country.
