When PHS grad Abby Welder, class 2019 was in sixth grade her father was rushed to the hospital with a massive pulmonary embolism. The medical assistance he received helped save his life. From that moment on, Abby said her goal was to enter the medical field and give back to others.
She recently graduated from Saint Joseph’s University summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in biomedical sciences. She was inducted into the Alpha, Alpha, Apha, Beta, Lambda as a 1st generation college student, and is a member of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society.
She was elected president of her sorority and has been accepted into the physicians assistant program at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Abby said, I am Pottstown Proud and want to thank my AP chemistry teacher, Mrs. Mohr, anatomy teacher, Mrs. Miller, and all of the other PHS teachers, who helped to inspire me on my path.
