Pottstown School District Beech Street Learning Studio program has been recognized with the 22-23 District of Distinction Award. The award is in recognition of igniting engagement and strengthening confidence for all learners. In its fifth year of operation, Beech Street Learning Studio uses Imagine Learning to provide asynchronous instruction to help students complete their unique learning path to meet graduation requirements. This individualized approach has helped guide 55 students to complete their high school diplomas through the program.
The Imagine Nation Awards are part of the Imagine Learning motivational program. Imagine Learning provides digital-first PreK–12 solutions for core instruction, supplemental and intervention, online courses, and virtual instruction. It serves over 15 million students — partnering with over half of school districts nationwide. More than 21,000 schools and districts throughout the U.S. were eligible for the Imagine Nation Award.
The Imagine Nation Award is presented to schools and districts that demonstrate outstanding commitment to effective implementation of an Imagine Learning program.
Pottstown is 1 of 301 schools and districts from across 42 states that received the honor of being named an Imagine Nation school for the 2022–2023 school year. Pottstown Superintendent Stephen Roriguez praised the Beech Street Learning Studio staff. The program coordinator, Rachel Borchelt, helps review records and outline needed courses and tentative completion dates for students. Dedicated learning coaches, including Lemuel Brown, Shanaye Glenn, and Dwyane Henry work individually with students each day to help maintain progress on outlined goals. The Student Success Advisor, Daniella Ciccarone, ensures each student has the opportunity to demonstrate postsecondary preparedness by walking students and families through college, career, and community readiness applications.
It is a program that, at its core, meets Pottstown School Districts' mission to prepare each student, by name, for success at every level. Their efforts give us another reason to say, proud to be from Pottstown.
