Students attending the Pottstown School District Beach Street Learning Studio, are another example of the district's innovative programming that supports the mission of preparing each student by name for success at every level. During a midwinter graduation ceremony, Nevaeh Brand, Elijah Brown, Sharif Knuckles, Rayne Lenhart and Stephen Luther Jr. saw their goal of obtaining a high school diploma become a reality. Since the start of the program 67 students, who found the traditional classroom a challenging obstacle to success, have successfully completed the program and proudly display their high school diplomas. All five of the winter session graduates have been accepted into post secondary programs, three have received assistance that led to post secondary employment and two received additional support which led to them obtaining certifications that will assist in post secondary employment. Dr. Latanya R. White-Springfield, Director of Student Services said the Beach Street Learning Studio has proven to be a valuable innovative approach to helping prepare students for future success. I am proud of our staff who provide personalized programming for each student and of our students who have made a commitment to increase their opportunities for success. Their hard work is paying off and is another reason for us to say, proud to be from Pottstown.
