Trojan Girls Earn State Honors

Congratulations to our two representatives to the MyHouse girls state wrestling championships.

wrestlersCongratulations to our two representatives to the MyHouse girls state wrestling championships. Senior Xiyah Robinson and Junior Vida Torres represented our school and community with pride, honor and integrity. Their aggressive style, and their sportsmanship were recognized by coaches, competitors and fans.

Xiyah's season and career came to an end as she went 2-2 on the day losing a close 5 to 7 match that eliminated her from the medal round.

Vida, who is a first-year wrestler for the Trojans had a big day coming up with a clutch triple overtime 6-5 win with an escape in the overtime ride out. She ended the day placing sixth. Her performance is all the more impressive by the fact that she moved up to the 230 pound class and gave over 40 pounds advantage to her heavier opponents. When Vida was not wrestling she was making friends with wrestlers and coaches. Trojan, proud of these two ladies who are helping make Pennsylvania wrestling history and are part of the pioneers of the sport in our state.

If you see them please give them congratulations and thanks for giving us more reason to say, proud to be from Pottstown.
