Virtual Setting for First Grade at Franklin

As a result of contact tracing, and in order to slow any more spread of COVID-19, we will be moving to a virtual setting for one of our 1st grade classrooms at Franklin Elementary School starting Monday, December 20th and continuing through the holiday break with a return to in-person class on Monday, January 3rd.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As a result of contact tracing, and in order to slow any more spread of COVID-19, we will be moving to a virtual setting for one of our 1st grade classrooms at Franklin Elementary School starting Monday, December 20th and continuing through the holiday break with a return to in-person class on Monday, January 3rd. The affected students will continue to learn virtually unless proof of vaccination has been submitted. We continue to monitor all other classrooms and will take all appropriate action if necessary.

A letter was sent home with all affected students and parents were contacted as well. To be clear, anyone who has had potential close contact exposure has already received communication from the school. If you have not received any direct communication from school personnel, then the only action you should take is to continue to watch for symptoms.

If you or your family were in attendance at last week's band performance, we encourage you to watch for any symptoms and take all appropriate precautions. Rest assured that safety is our top priority and will help guide our decisions in attempting to safeguard in-person instruction.

Sincerely,
Stephen J. Rodriguez
Superintendent of Schools
