Dear Parent/Guardian,

On Wednesday Dec. 16, and Thursday Dec. 17, all buildings will be closed and all staff will be required to telework from home. All out-of-district placement students will revert to a virtual format for Wednesday and Thursday and all transportation is canceled for Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday December 16th, all Pottstown classes will continue to remain virtual. On Thursday December 17th, we will provide for a flexible learning day in an “asynchronous environment”. This means that teachers will post assignments in the mornings and students will be required to sign in for attendance, but typical classes will not be held except for certain Advanced Placement, Honors, or Keystone courses. Teachers will be available for support via email and during their regular office hours. You will receive more information from your school and homeroom teachers soon if there is anything specific to your child’s classes or IEP.

We believe this will provide the maximum flexibility for safety and learning on a day with unknown variables, including power outages, daycare cancellations, or other factors. On Friday, Dec. 18, we will resume full virtual instruction. Please be reminded that this is a scheduled early dismissal day for staff professional development.

Thank you,
Stephen J Rodriguez
