Theme: “Be The Dream”

Eligibility
Ages: 6-20 years

Rules for Arts Competition

Age Groups: Ages 6-9; 10-14; 16-20
Judges will be awarding 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes in each age group. Results will be announced during Black History Month at the Pottstown NAACP’s General Meeting on February 26, 2021 at 7 PM (via Zoom, as of now, and object to changes based on coronavirus developments + policies.)

From Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream Speech” in 1963, choose one theme in support of the overall theme “Be The Dream” for your art work:


  • “Love over Hate”
  • “Let Freedom Ring”
  • “Moving Forward Together In Unity”
  • “We Are Free At Last”
  • “Justice Like A Flowing Stream”


Please note: NAACP judging committee has the right to reject that which does not reflect the overall theme or is deemed in appropriate.

Your artwork must be on an 18x24 piece of paper. You may use the following drawing materials and art mediums can be used:

  • Pencils
  • Charcoal
  • Colored Pencils
  • Ink (pens)
  • Markers
  • Sharpies
  • Crayons
  • Oil Pastels
  • Watercolors
  • Paint (tempera, washable, acrylic, oil)
  • Graphic Technology

No cut out pictures or clip art (your art work must be your own) Please fill out a registration form: https://forms.gle/8BMVxBPpGKu6QEYi7 and submit it with your artwork.

Please take a clear picture of your art work and email to: [email protected] with your name, grade, and contact information (phone number)
