Saving Lives and Learning Lessons

Pottstown High School Health Occupation students under the leadership of their teacher Mrs. Michaela Johnson received some hands on learning while assisting in the school's annual Fall blood drive. The drive is done in partnership with the Miller-Keystone Blood Center. Students were responsible for the organization of the event and assisted in the collection of life saving units of blood. The drive was a great success and exceeded the goal of 37units by collecting 40 units from the 56 students and staff who registered to donate. It is estimated that the blood collected will be able help in saving 120 lives. Mrs Johnson said I am very proud of our students and staff who continually show their leadership in organizing this lifesaving event and willingness to give of themselves to help those in need.
