The Pottstown Regional Public Library is thrilled to announce its THIRD annual "Chair-Itv" fundraiser! This year’s event, which invited artists of all ages and skill levels to transform wooden chairs into literary-themed works of art, showcased an impressive display of creativity and talent. Three students participated: Maddie Heidel, Aimee White, and Natalie Shope. The Hungry Caterpillar chair, inspired by Eric Carle's Children's Book, was created by Natalie Shope. Her design captivated the public with its artistic detail and connection to the literary theme. It was recently raffled off for $500 to benefit the Pottstown Public Library. It is now on display at the "Three Sister Bed and Breakfast' in Pottstown. The "Chair-Itv" fundraiser was made possible thanks to a generous donation of forty wooden chairs from The Hill School, originally used in the Widener Science Building. Artists were encouraged to use paints, stencils, and other artistic media to create designs inspired by books, authors, or literary genres. Each completed chair will be available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting the Pottstown Regional Public Library's programs and services. This fundraiser not only supports the library but also celebrates the incredible talent in our community.
