The Pottstown Middle School Jazz Band closed out their festival season on Friday, April 11th, at the Emmaus High School Jazz Festival. Among all the talented ensembles, Pottstown stood out as the only band to receive a "Superior" rating.
In addition, the band was awarded "Best Saxophone Section" and "Best Trombone Section." A special congratulations goes to Aiden Ondik, who was recognized as the "Best Overall Soloist" of the event.
Following their performance, the students participated in an educational clinic with one of the festival’s judges, gaining valuable insight to further refine their musicianship.
The jazz band will perform in the Spring Concert on Tuesday, April 15th at 7:00 PM at Pottstown Middle School. They will perform the three charts featured at the festival—"Tenor Madness," "Splanky," and "Vehicle"—along with two bonus selections: "Malagueña" and "September."
