Katina Bearden

Pottstown graduation speaker was our very own school board president Katina Bearden.

Her message to our students was a powerful one. We need you. We need our students to take the next step in their lives and to positively impact the world but we also need them to come back to Pottstown and make a difference. Just like Katina Bearden has made a difference. Born and raised in Pottstown, a Pottstown graduate, she went to college and returned to serve our community. She is an associate Director in a fortune 500 company, and has invested time, money, and energy into being a positive force in our school district for the students and staff. She has represented the people of our community with pride and dignity.

Supporting our staff with the first ever appreciation breakfast to start off one school year, (pre-Covid of course,) and spearheading the very popular and community engaging father-daughter and mother-son dances at Pottstown Middle School, there is no question that our community benefits from her talents and passion.

Graduation was not her first speaking experience for the Pottstown school district, advocating for fair funding and legislation that would help our community, she has given speeches at rallies and events including Governor Wolf’s recent visit to our school.

Mrs. Bearden leads by example. She has provided leadership for innovation, positive change and community engagement and is an excellent example of paying it forward to our community.

She gives us more reason to say, proud to be from Pottstown.
