Thanks to Rupert Elementary principal Mr. Matt Moyer for sharing a story that illustrates our district's mission to prepare each student by name for success at every level.
Austin Scavello's journey began at Rupert where he attended from Kindergarten - 5th grade, then middle school and on to PHS until 11th grade. His family moved and he graduated from Boyertown High School in 2017. He is a 2022 graduate of West Chester University, where he was a member of the ROTC program. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the US Army at Widener University. He will be in Army Intelligence, receiving his top secret clearances and specific assignment this month.
Principal Moyer was invited to attend the ceremony. Moyer noted, I am proud to see Austin's hard work pay off and thank him for his service to our country. I am sure he will have a distinguished military career and give us more reason to say Proud to be from Pottstown.
