Good Evening Pottstown Parents and Families,
This is Stephen Rodriguez Superintendent of Schools. I apologize for the very late call. As many of you already know, there was a very serious explosion in the Borough that destroyed 3 homes. This incident occurred near Hale and Butler Streets and emergency personnel will be in the area for the foreseeable future. As a result, all Pottstown Schools will be closed for students and staff tomorrow, Friday, May 27th. Please do your best to avoid this area so that emergency workers can concentrate on the response effectively.
We suspect, but do not know, that there are serious injuries and perhaps loss of life involved in this incident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those families. When schools open again, our counselors and psychologists will be available to provide support.
