Trojan Wrestling Tournament

Last weekend, Pottstown High School hosted the 2nd annual Trojan Invitational Wrestling Tournament. Under the direction of our new head coach Mike Hewitt, the event was a tremendous success. Over 450 student-athletes from 22 different high schools representing 4 PIAA  districts and 2 states competed in varsity, junior varsity and girls divisions. The two-day event saw a combined 1000 visitors to our school and community. PHS senior Devin Green for the second year in a row placed 3th in his weight class. While senior Malachi Jones placed sixth. Our up-and-coming female wrestlers were highly successful in their division with Tara Morgan taking 1st place with three consecutive wins by pin and Triniti Rhoads Fisher finishing 3rd with a record of three wins and one loss. Our novice wrestlers in the junior varsity division experienced success with KyreeStillman, Luke Grice, Javien Rolle and Jon Moser taking 2nd place and Jayden Pray 3rd.  The two-day event showcased our facilities and community. We receive many positive comments on both our facilities and the organization of the tournament. It was a proud couple of days for our wrestling team, coaches, athletic department, school district  and community. Thanks to all of our tournament organizers and workers, many of which are former wrestlers returning to support the program. The two-day event was another reason to say, proud to be from Pottstown.
