Students earn high scores on 4-way test

Pottstown High School was well represented at the annual Pottstown Rotary four-way test speech contest. Nada Elgendy, Madison Carberry and Mark Ellison delivered insightful and thought provoking talks about gun violence, fair funding in education, and advertising to youth.

Each student gave a seven minute speech using the Rotary four-way test to defend their position. A panel of judges selected Madison the overall winner. She will represent the Pottstown chapter at the regional Rotary contest.

Teachers Diane Fox and Diane Brothers serve as advisors to the high school Rotary Interact club where the students auditioned their talks and received constructive feedback on how to improve. Brothers said of the three, they are excellent representatives of our school and community. I am excited that these are our leaders of today, tomorrow, and the future to come.

They give us another reason to say Proud to be from Pottstown.
