Pottstown High School 2016 graduate Maya Pope earned a bachelor's degree in Animal Behavior from Utica University. Her goal is to earn a PhD and continue working with people and their pets. While at PHS she was very active as a member of the cross country and track teams. Maya was also a member of the National Honor Society, and Student Government.
She said, I was fortunate to have qualified for the dual enrollment program, it allowed me to earn enough credits to graduate college a year early and provided me the opportunity to understand how college work differs from high school.
I made lifelong friends from PHS by being involved in programs I was passionate about. Those opportunities gave me the ability to learn more about myself and express myself confidently.
My advice to the students of PHS is to find an activity you’re passionate about to keep you motivated in school and develop a group of friends who you can freely express yourself to. Please help share the good news of another reason to say, proud to be from Pottstown.
