Board President Amy Francis Honored For Leadership

Amy FrancisCongratulations to Pottstown School District school board president Mrs. Amy Francis!

Recently, she was honored by the Montgomery County Democratic Committee as one of the county's Outstand Women Elected Leaders. During the Annual Fall Dinner held in virtual format she was one of 23 elected women leaders honored for their leadership and contribution to community government. Mrs Francis's service to the Pottstown School Board has spanned fourteen years, during which her support and leadership has helped to guide many projects and initiatives including:

  • Renovations to elementary buildings
  • Expanded Science Technology Engineering and Math programs with the addition of high school engineering and robotics programs
  • Core curriculum updates to district math and reading programs
  • Social Emotional Learning curriculum development
  • Expanded PreK Counts programming for our youngest learners
  • Stadium lights project
  • Celebration of 175th district anniversary
  • Recognition as an environmentally friendly school district
  • Supporting efforts to address COVID-19 issues, such as food security for all students and efforts that resulted in each student having a chromebook to support virtual learning.
  • Supported the use of technology to encourage community engagement, board transparency and accountability

    As board president she has helped to develop a culture of board governance that is professional and focused on student achievement.
