Friends and Family Honor Fallen Trojan

Pottstown High School AutoFriends and family of Pottstown High School graduate and former PHS auto shop teacher Will Bertoti gathered on a grassy area along side the auto shop to honor his memory on the 5th anniversary of his passing. Former student and now current PHS auto technology instructor Mr. Mike Hewitt along with art instructor Mrs. Beth Yoder unveiled a reflection tree and bench. In true Will Bertoti style the bench was fashioned from the bumper and tailgate of a Chevy pick up truck. High school principal Danielle McCoy and superintendent Stephen Rodriguez shared their Pottstown High School Automemories of working with Bertoti. Hewitt gave credit for not dropping out of school to the mentoring he received from Bertoti. Members of the auto tech class were on hand to show support by wearing specially designed t shirts and holding a mini car show in Will's honor. His wife Dolores and son Christopher were honored guest. Mrs. Bertoti announced the scholarship which was stared five years ago and funded by donations from teachers and friends, will now be funded in perpetuity by the family in hopes that it serves as an incentive and reward to students.
