Police Host Community Meeting

Public concerns about recent events in the borough have prompted the Pottstown Police Department to sponsor a community meeting May 2 (2019; Thursday) at 7 p.m. in the third-floor meeting room in Borough Hall, 100 E. High St. The meeting is free to attend and open to all.“Recent issues in the borough and the police department’s efforts to ensure the safety of the community and businesses,” are chief among topics for discussion, according to a notice posted Tuesday (April 23, 2019) on the borough website.

In recent weeks areas within the borough have been the scenes of highly publicized crimes and violence. Pottstown has already experienced its fourth alleged homicide so far this year.

Police Chief Michael Markovich and several officers will be available to speak with those who attend and listen to their comments. “Please feel free to bring your own concerns to discuss with the police, or just come to meet and speak with officers,” the notice said. Parking is available in nearby locations.
