About Mrs. McDonnell

Hello! My name is Mrs. McDonnell and this is my 11th year teaching 4th grade at Barth Elementary School. I graduated from Gwynedd-Mercy University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education. In May 2003, I earned my Masters Degree in Education with a concentration in Reading from Arcadia University.

I began teaching in the Intensive Support Program at The Pathway School in Norristown, PA, in June 1998. During my 7 years at Pathway, I taught students with neurological impairment, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, psychological disorders, and serious emotional disturbance. In August 2005, I began teaching in Pottstown School District at Barth as a 4th grade Learning Support Teacher. I took an opportunity in August 2013 that allowed me to begin teaching 4th grade as a General Education teacher. Mrs. Alutius, Mr. Mayberry, and I have been teaching for 10 years together - Wow!!! I really do love teaching at Barth Elementary and I wouldn't change anything!

I have been married for 15 years and have two boys, Sean and Brett. We have a Miniature Schnauzer named Finn. We love going to Ocean City, NJ with 45 of our family members every July. As a family, we love to go to the beach, the pool, watch movies, play card games, and make each other laugh!

Here are a list of apps for iPads/iPods that will give your child some extra practice with curriculum content.
Here is a checklist I made for students who have had trouble completing homework. Feel free to print and place in a clear sleeve protector. Then use a wipe off marker to check off each box. Erase and re-use the next day.
